THE PRAGUE ECONOMIC CHAMBER

The Prague Chamber of Commerce was established in June 1994. The member base includes not only large and middle-sized firms and companies but also small firms and entrepreneurs. The Prague Chamber of Commerce has 892 members at present.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Ing. Vladimír Srp.

A member of the Prague Chamber of Commerce becomes a member of the Czech Chamber of Commerce automaticaly with the right to prosper its servises.

The Czech Chamber of Commerce was founded on the base of the Act. ČNR č. 301/1992 Sb. The porpuse of the Prague Chamber of Commerce is to support entrepreneurial activities, to create the platform of relations with the business sphere, the state administration and self-administration with a task to support and protect interests of entrepreneurial subjects. The Chamber is a direct partner of the Government of CR in the area of business. By the Act č. 216/1994 Sb. the Arbitration court was associated to the Czech Chamber of Commerce. This court adjudicates all property cases in the arbitration in CR and also abroad.

The Chamber activity to support of business

The Chamber represents a very valuable benefit for the business development in the field of an enforcement of interests of the state or a business area.

The international relations area

The Prague Economic Chamber presents Prague’s entreprenuers not only at home but also abroad. The Chamber develops bilateral contacts with partner commerce and industrial chambers abroad and all around the world. With the aim to support of the international trade and cooperation the Chamber extends a cooperation with chambers of other European cities.

The Chamber provides:

• Information about foreign firms that are interested in a cooperation with Czech firms,
• Business information about Czech firms that look for a foreign partner,
• Organisation of meetings or othere forms of contacts among Czech and foreign firms,
• Sharing of information about supllies/demands of Czech firms all around the world via commerce and industrial chambers abroad,
• Representation of Czech firms in relationships among chambers of commerce abroad,
• Support to negotiation of Czech entrepreneurs abroad via foreign chambers of commerce:
  a) direct negotiation to the level of top management based on the contract of copperation (Budapest, Athens)
  b) form of request/recommendation to other chambers of commerce where no contract of cooperation exists yet.
• Support to an organisation of missions of entrepreneurs abroad
• Organisation of workshops, seminars and other actions with an informational character in the area of  business activity abroad,
• Provision of information about support funds from abroad
• Information about business and promotion actions organised by Czech institutions abroad,
• Selection of foreign partners for Czech firms via foreign chambers.

Through these and many others activity the Prague Chamber of Commerce promotes its members abroad helps them to enter international markets and be successful there.

Membership cards and membership certificate of the Czech Chamber of Commerce

The Czech Chamber of Commerce issues membership cards for its members particularly during business relations in CR and also abroad. In some countries (e.g.: Italy) it is needed to prove the Chamber membership and in others (Austria, Germany) it makes the business relation easy. An entrepreneurs can use the membership card also in CR in the District Chambers of Commerce whose officers does not know the member. This card allows to have a discount for its services.

Membership certificate is established for representatives purposes (presentation in firm, in a company) and informs about the membership in the Chamber.

THE PRAGUE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SERVICE Ltd.

At the beginning of the year 1998 100% subsidiary company was founded – The Prague Chamber of Commerce Service Ltd. This company took over services for entrepreneurs from the Prague Chamber of Commerce.
Entrepreneurs, firms or companies that are interested in exporting of their goods to foreign markets, developing their activities, looking for new markets, being part of foreign entrepreneurial missions, exhibitions and also want to be informed well and regularly – for those the membership in the Czech Chamber of Commerce is a gate to the world of business.
